stem cell biology
Vascular system is the essential organ for the cell survival and function in our body. Blood vessels are composed of two cell types, endothelial cells and pericytes. We are investigating critical signaling pathways interacting between two vascular progenitor cells during angiogenesis process.
02 / Vascular disease
research
Numerous diseases such as cancer, stroke, and diabetes are related with vascular abnormality. We have established three-dimensional co-culture assay system for the investigation of the novel mechanisms that promote vascular dysfunction under the disease conditions.
03 / Vascular medicine
development
Many pharmaceutical companies are focusing on the new drug development to control vascular function. By the use of the real-time cell history recorder, we are trying to find new candidates effective on the target molecules that regulate angiogenesis or vascular integrity.
